John Friedrich: Amidst the Journey

In Amidst the Journey, Friedrich shares a selection his latest abstract paintings. Marked by his strong sense of color, Friedrich’s paintings are flow with organic shapes, lines wandering throughout the composition. Says Friedrich,“Initially, it is purely visual, then the viewer may be drawn into the piece for other reasons, and when that personal connection happens, I have succeeded as an artist.”
Friedrich was born and raised in Germany, moving to Los Angeles as a teen and has lived in Visalia for over thirty years. Though his original intention to attend art school was interrupted with service in the U.S. Army, Friedrich has enjoyed a lifelong engagement with the visual arts. Painting has always remained his major passion as an artist, with abstraction having long been his stylistic leaning. His art has been shown in Los Angeles and extensively in our local area.
