Apply to exhibit your artwork for a monthly show at Arts Visalia Visual Art Center located in historic downtown Visalia, California. Arts Visalia has two gallery spaces available for exhibitions: a large main gallery (31’ 5” x 36’ 8”) and a feature gallery (17’ 9” x 17’). Artists may choose to exhibit in one or both galleries free of charge. Arts Visalia will promote exhibiting artists through printed and digital media that may include postcard mailers, social media coverage, posters, and more. Exhibiting artists will have the opportunity to give an artist talk that will be open to the public during their exhibition.
Who Can Submit an Exhibition Proposal
Exhibitions are available for regional, national, and international artists.
Arts Visalia accepts all artistic media with exception of performance and film.
Arts Visalia accepts all subjects and themes with exception of direct calls for violence or discrimination against protected groups.
Arts Visalia encourages artists from all backgrounds to apply for an exhibition and seeks to showcase a diverse range of artistic voices in our galleries for the consideration of all who visit the visual art center.
Exhibition Proposal Criteria
- Cover Letter addressing intent for exhibiting artwork at Arts Visalia, interest in conducting an artist talk at the gallery, preference of exhibition month/year, and gallery preference (main, feature, or both).
- CV/Resume outlining your artistic background.
- 10 – 20 Images representative of the proposed exhibition. Links to websites are not an acceptable alternative to providing images.
- Artist Statement describing your artistic choices.
- Artist Biography describing your background as an artist. Include links to artist website/social media handles.

- Submit a pdf document with all of the needed criteria to the web form below. Once you click submit, the form will reset meaning your proposal has been sent to Arts Visalia for review.
- OR share a Google Drive Link in the form below. If sharing a Google Drive link, please ensure that your permissions are set to “Anyone with a Link can View.“

- Mail is not deliverable to the Arts Visalia gallery location.
- USB flash drive or CD/DVD. Images should be JPEG or PNG format with image set to 300 dpi resolution. All submission materials (including disks and flash drives) will not be returned to the artist.
Exhibition Selection Details
If selected for an exhibition at Arts Visalia, artists will be responsible for the following:
- Providing all requested information including Exhibition Agreement, show title, artists statement, artist biography, promotional images, postal contacts, exhibition inventory by the assigned dates and times.
- Transporting artwork to and from the Arts Visalia gallery location on the assigned dates and times.
- Responding to inquiries and communication from Arts Visalia staff in a timely and professional manner.
