CALL TO ARTISTS: EXHIBITION PROPOSALS FOR 2025 – 2026

Closed April 3, 2024. Any exhibition proposals received will not be considered until the 2026 Call for Proposals for the 2027-2028 calendar.

Apply to exhibit your artwork for a monthly show at Arts Visalia Visual Art Center located in historic downtown Visalia, California. Arts Visalia has two gallery spaces available for exhibitions: a large main gallery (31’ 5” x 36’ 8”) and a feature gallery (17’ 9” x 17’). Artists may choose to exhibit in one or both galleries free of charge. Arts Visalia will promote exhibiting artists through printed and digital media that may include postcard mailers, social media coverage, posters, and more. Exhibiting artists will have the opportunity to give an artist talk that will be open to the public during their exhibition. Arts Visalia Visual Art Center accepts proposals for all visual media except for performance and video.

Exhibition Proposals must include:

• Cover Letter addressing intent for exhibiting artwork at Arts Visalia, interest in conducting an artist talk at the gallery, preference of exhibition month/year, and gallery preference (main, feature, or both).
• CV/Resume outlining your artistic background.
• 10 – 20 Images representative of the proposed exhibition.
• Artist Statement describing your artistic choices. Half page minimum.
• Artist Biography describing your background as an artist. Half page minimum.

How to submit an Exhibition Proposal:

• Email your proposal to info@artsvisalia.org
• If sharing Google Drive documents, please ensure that you have your
  permissions set to “anyone with the link can view/edit.”
• Postal Mail can be sent to P.O. Box 251, Visalia, CA 93279
• USB flash drive or CD/DVD. Images should be JPEG or PNG format with image set to 300 dpi resolution. All submission materials (including disks and flash drives) will not be returned to the artist.

Exhibition Selection Details:

Exhibitions are selected by a jury committee after the submission deadline. Arts Visalia encourages artists from all backgrounds to apply for an exhibition and seeks to showcase a diverse range of artistic voices in our galleries for the consideration of all who visit the visual art center.
