ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Arts Visalia is seeking submissions for the 2014 North American Print and Drawing Exhibition, a juried competition which will showcase exemplary works in print and drawing produced within the past three years. All accepted artworks will be featured in a full-color exhibition catalogue.
JUROR: Roxanne Sexauer, Professor of Art, California State University – Long Beach
Roxanne Sexauer was born in the Bronx, New York and grew up in the neighboring borough of Queens. She holds BFA and MFA degrees in Printmaking, studying first with Mauricio Lasansky at the University of Iowa and later at the State University of New York at Purchase, with Antonio Frasconi. Since 1989 she has been on the faculty at California State University, Long Beach, where she teaches printmaking, drawing and the history of prints and drawings. Her work is included in a number of public and private collections and has been exhibited widely throughout the United States and abroad.
ELIGIBILITY
All artists 18 years or older living within the United States and Canada are eligible to enter. Works must have been produced within the last three years (2010 and after). Open to all traditional and non-traditional graphic media, including all forms of printmaking, drawing, and book arts.
PRIZES
A minimum of $1000 in prize money will be awarded including a $500 prize for Best in Show.
CATALOGUE
A full color exhibition catalogue will be produced for the exhibition and will include all artworks selected for the exhibition. Each artist with work selected for the exhibition will receive one complementary copy of the catalogue. Additional copies will be available for purchase.
IMAGE SUBMISSIONS
Submissions must be received by Monday, May 5th, 2014. Submissions received after this time will not be considered. Submissions may be made via mail or email as detailed below. Accepted work that differs from the digital juried image may be excluded from the exhibition. Please do not send images that contain borders or text that is not part of the original work. For consideration, artwork must be submitted in digital format as described below. CDs will not be returned.
DIGITAL IMAGE FORMAT
Artists may submit digital entries in JPEG format on CD via mail or as attachments to an email. Images should be 300 dpi resolution and approximately 2400 pixels in the largest dimension. Image files should be named with the artist’s first and last name followed by the corresponding entry number.
Example: firstname_lastname_1.jpeg.
ENTRY FEE
$30.00 non-refundable entry fee ($25.00 for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program) for up to three entries must be received in order to ensure consideration of artwork submissions. Entry Fee is payable by check or money order, credit card {via entry form or by phone (559-739-0905) during regular gallery hours – Wed/Sat from Noon to 5:30pm}, or by PayPal (via PayPal link on the exhibition page on this page).
