Jamie Meadows is a multi-media artist who explores concepts of seeds, potential, and possibility; new hope after/in spite of loss or pain, and the embrace of small beginnings, even if they seem very, very small. Jamie also has interest in Biblical narratives connecting the land with the feminine. As a woman, these themes align with my valuing a woman’s work (including her work as an artist), in her sharing her creativity with others, and how this is a form of her bringing life into the world. As a resident of the Central Valley of California, the same topics of loss, potential, and creation intersect with my reflections on the environment Jamie lives in – the San Joaquin Valley is a place of fertility and abundance but is also a location where much geographical change and placement/displacement has occurred.
Jamie Meadows received her MFA in Visual Art from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. She has a history of curating and designing exhibitions and art education.
