Genesis Spine features oil pastel drawings on paper by Jamie Meadows. Depicting abstracted embryonic forms, these recent works are inspired by themes of beginnings, creative process joy, and the continuing of life even after loss, grief, sadness. Further influences include Biblical Hebrew texts, children’s art lessons, and the pondering of potential and possibility within the small.
Jamie Meadows is an artist based in Fresno, California. She received both her B.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting and her M.F.A. in Visual Art from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. Jamie has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions at venues such as Downtown Artist Gallery in Fresno, Fresno Pacific University Galleries, Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock, and the Azusa Pacific University Galleries. Jamie is also a teaching artist and has taught art at various educational organizations and to various ages, including at Arts Visalia and Fresno Pacific University.
