This project explores identity and perception through computational portraiture, combining photography, neural style transfer, and geometric partitioning to create abstract visual impressions of people. By transforming portraits through algorithmic processes, the work investigates how mathematical structures and computational tools can function as creative media in contemporary art.
The exhibition is developed collaboratively by Tucker Nielson (high school student) and Weimo Zhu (undergraduate student), with faculty mentorship by Dr. Jiayin Lu, Dr. Ying Jiang, Prof. Michael Andrews, and Prof. Chenfanfu Jiang. Together we explore how mathematics and code can be used to create new visual languages and artistic experiences.
