One of the best ways to cut back on water use is to consider removing or reducing the size of your lawn and replacing it with native and other low-water use plants. Adding garden art is a great way to give your garden the comforting accents that make you feel at home. ARTSCAPE: New Visions for a Waterwise Visalia, a yard tour hosted by Arts Visalia and Sequoia Riverlands Trust. This event transforms the traditional garden tour into one which emphasizes awareness of the changes homeowners are making as we all adapt to the need to reduce our usage of water. Further, through this tour we hope to provide attendees with a variety of creative visions as to how one may design their landscaping, with an emphasis on incorporating art as a defining element of our environment.
The ARTSCAPE garden tour will offer participants the opportunity to tour six Visalia homes with low-water use gardens, meet with landscape designers, water resource professionals, and artists whose works will be on display. Consider it a one-stop resource for great ideas for making your yard a unique and beautiful space paired with strategies and information on resources to answer any of your drought-related questions.
