Art Classes for Adults

Adult Art Workshops are an excellent way to build skills for all levels of artists: beginning to advanced. We offer workshops that introduce you to new techniques and mediums that are designed to empower artists in a welcoming community space. All materials are provided, just sign up and show up!

Valentine’s Day Paint & Sip – Saturday 2/14/26

Enjoy a relaxing time with a complimentary drink as you create an acrylic painting! In this class you’ll be guided step by step to create a beautiful piece of artwork.
Instructor: Shelly Douglas
Cost: $45 per participant

Tea with the Directors – Saturday 2/21/26

Join the directors of Arts Visalia for an informal yet informative tea time. They will talk about any and all topics related to art: opportunities, marketing, exhibiting and much more! A variety of hot teas will be available, but feel free to bring your own tea or coffee if you’d prefer.

Adult Sketch Class – Saturday 2/21/26

Join artist Benny Jordan for a relaxed, two hour creative session focused on building drawing skills and confidence. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. Benny will offer guided prompts, practice time, and a welcoming space to draw and connect.

Cost: $35 per participant per session

Woodcut Printmaking Workshop – Sunday 2/22/26

Relief Printing/Woodcut Printmaking Workshop
Learn the art of Relief Printing on Fabric! In this workshop you’ll learn to cut away parts of a wood printing surface to create a raised design that you can print on paper or fabric! You’ll receive one tote bag to print your design on, but feel free to bring your own fabric products to print on (natural fibers will work best). You’ll create a new relief print in class but you are welcome to bring the designs you created in our previous classes as well!

Watercolor Painting – Saturday 2/28/26

Join artist Valerie Estes for a watercolor painting workshop. In this class you will be introduced to the essential watercolor techniques needed to paint with confidence. You’ll practice layering, blending, brush control, and much more.

Tea with the Directors – Saturday 3/21/26

Lampworking (Glass Bead Making) Workshop – Sunday 3/22/26

Learn the art of Lampworking. In this workshop you’ll be mesmerized by the properties of glass as you create unique glass beads. You’ll view demonstrations of different techniques and you’ll be provided with the tools to practice those techniques. Most of your beads will be ready to be taken home that same day. Glass beads can be used to create jewelry, home décor or even garden décor.

Screen Printing Workshop – Sunday 4/12/26

Learn the art of Screen Printing on Fabric! In this workshop you will learn the many steps in preparing screens as well as properly exposing them. You can print on paper we’ll provide, you’ll get one tote bag to print on, and you can also, bring your own fabric products or clothing to print on (natural fibers work best).

Join us for an elegant night of drawing the human form. This is a drop in session, bring your own materials. Nude model provided.
No Instructor but there will be a facilitator present.
Cost: $10 per participant per session
Class size: 25 participants maximum per session
Class time: 7pm-9pm
Age: Ages 18 and up Only

Open Studio Sessions – Wednesdays and Thursdays

Join fellow artists for open studio time at Arts Visalia! Bring your own materials, we’ll provide the creative space (tables, chairs, easels). Make time to create!
No Instructor but staff will be present.
