Adult Art Workshops are an excellent way to build skills for all levels of artists: beginning to advanced. We offer workshops that introduce you to new techniques and mediums that are designed to empower artists in a welcoming community space.

Chinese Calligraphy & Painting Workshop (SOLD OUT)

Get introduced to the art of Chinese calligraphy and painting. An ancient art form that uses ink and brush to create elegant designs on “Xuan” paper (also known as rice paper). In this class you’ll view a demonstration of the traditional Chinese brush techniques and you’ll be provided the tools to practice those techniques. Your Chinese name can be provided to you during class upon request!

Relief Printing – Woodcut Printmaking on Fabric! Workshop (SOLD OUT)

Learn the art of Relief Printing on Fabric! In this workshop you’ll learn the same techniques taught in our previous relief printing classes but you’ll get the opportunity to print your designs on fabric with special ink! Bring your own fabric products such as totes, bandanas, or clothing (natural fibers will work best). You’ll create a new relief print in class but feel free to bring the designs you created in our previous classes as well!

Screen Printing Workshop

Learn the art of Screen Printing on Fabric! In this workshop you will learn the many steps in preparing screens as well as properly exposing them. You can print on paper we’ll provide, and you can print on fabric pieces you bring in! Bring your own fabric products such as totes, bandanas, or clothing (natural fibers work best).

Portrait Drawing

Learn how to draw an accurate portrait! In this class, Linda will show you her favorite techniques and tools for drawing an accurate portrait from a picture.

Lampworking – Glass Bead Making

Learn the art of Lampworking. In this workshop you’ll be mesmerized by the properties of glass as you create unique glass beads. You’ll view demonstrations of different techniques and you’ll be provided with the tools to practice those techniques. Most of your beads will be ready to be taken home that same day. Glass beads can be used to create jewelry, home décor or even garden décor.

Modern Calligraphy Workshop

Learn to add creative flair to correspondence, invitations, decorations, art projects and more! In this workshop you’ll be introduced to the art of modern calligraphy. You’ll be provided with a lettering workbook to practice on while you receive step by step guidance. You’ll learn the basic calligraphy alphabet and beginner techniques to practice making letter forms. You’ll learn about the tools and materials every calligrapher needs to get started, and you’ll get to take pens, ink and paper to continue practicing at home!

Writing an Artist Statement Workshop

Artist statements can be used for many purposes within an artist’s career. They can support a series of artworks in exhibitions, or can be the general statement for an artist’s practice. This workshop will benefit artists at all stages of their artistic journey with developing an artist statement from scratch or revising and reworking an existing one for different goals.
