Kirk Cruz – The Color Black

Kirk Cruz returns to Arts Visalia in May with his artwork depicting his bold process in color theory and light. Kirk was born in Fresno and has studied painting and drawing for over 25 years.  His inspiration comes from his father, Gilbert Cruz, who encouraged him in his pursuit of the arts in his youth.  He has studied oils, acrylics, pastels, and pencil in developing his color ink technique. Cruz calls his technique Freedom Drawing because it depends greatly on him letting go and trusting his intuition; re-understanding what Art is and who he is.
