Esperanza Martinez (1934–1998) was a Mexican born painter who moved to Los Angeles in 1963 after studying with Mexican artist Diego Rivera. Her detailed images depict an array of Mexican and Indigenous life and peoples. The works on display are a part of the collection on loan from Ramona Walker, who was a friend and collector of Esperanza Martinez.
