Art has been at the forefront of every struggle, war, or social movement. It is an insight into a reality of existence. Our unhoused population have their own harsh reality. It is a reality of struggle, of freezing temperature, of feeling vulnerable. A reality of being ignored and underrepresented. Look up close at their faces, look into their eyes. You will see the part of their soul that is in pain. Being unhoused could happen to anyone, to your daughter, to your son, or to your spouse. These photographs are not intended to make you feel comfortable, it is important they make you feel uncomfortable. It is with hope that a window is opened for you to feel just a tiny piece of what is in their soul. The unhoused should be treated as no less.
It takes a village.
