Having participated in numerous art shows since 1993, James Bonafé has been creating art in a multitude of art forms. He was provided the opportunity to display his first piece of artwork in a Beverly Hills Gallery and from there he has shown his work in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, West Hollywood, Fresno, and Visalia. His handmade cards have been shown in Chicago, Australia, and at the San Francisco Gift Show.
James has been an active member of the Central Valley Art Scene since 2001 with his first showing at the Tower Arts Gallery in Fresno. When the Visalia 1st Arts Downtown Garden Plaza Saturday Event came about he signed up to rent a booth at a number of shows. His work was once displayed at the downtown Easelhead Gallery and he has been fortunate to have been commissioned to create a number of large scale abstracts works for a number of homes here in town. As a member of the Visalia Art League he participated in multiple group shows throughout the years and was rewarded with a number of ribbons for his work. As a member of the Arts Consortium, he has shown a variety of work at the October Taste of the Arts Shows. And when the Art on Fire Project was originally created by Arts Visalia, his entries were approved for two successive cycles resulting in designing and painting 4 fire hydrants on Main Street in downtown Visalia….you can still take a walk on Main Street and see two of his painted fire hydrants…but especially look for the Bees Fire Hydrant near the LJ Theatre! And since 2013, he has proudly served on the Board of Arts Visalia.
On display is a collection of photographs on canvas from his travels both outside and within the USA to other interest that caught his eye!
James certainly has an eye for beauty and one that translates to a story being told. Wishing you great success with your art.
Beautiful work. James definitely has an artist’s eye and much talent. These displays are impressive.
Nice to finally see some of James’s photographs! I left California in 2010 so I haven’t had much opportunity since I left and was only familiar with his cards and his abstracts. Loved the ones shot through windows and the B&W silhouette of the person waving – very evocative and universal. Keep up the good work and congrats on the show! Much love & continued success! (Miss you!)
