“So why or how did you get into photography?” I get that question a lot. “Why do you do it?” “Do you enjoy it?” “Is it just a hobby?” I get those questions too. Unfortunately, I’ve never had a simple answer for any of those questions. However, since this piece of paper is supposed to contain my artist statement, I’ve been thinking about the whys and hows for a couple of weeks now so here goes: When I see something that is visually striking to me, I seem to be compelled to capture it and then reproduce it in a way that gives me the same feeling that I had when I took the picture, and if I do it right it will also remind me of why I took the picture in the first place.
My photographs in the gallery today are from two locations that I very much have enjoyed photographing over the last couple of years—the Southwestern United States and Iceland. Fire and Ice let’s call them. I hope you like some of them. If you do, leave your email and I’ll send you photographs of some of my other favorite locations.

These photographs are absolutely stunning! They capture depth, motion, and sensitivity of the object. Even in black and white can you imagine the strength of each. Thank you for bringing this artist to our well-deserved attention.
