August 31 – September 30. 2028
Opening Reception: September 1, 2028
The Victory Belongs to Love is a love letter to myself, and a never-ending prayer. It’s an attempt to remember my life before immigration, and an acknowledgment of those who stayed in Iran, a life that so easily could have been my own. It is an invitation for us all to tenderly embrace our inconceivable range.
My current and future art practice involves a poetics that resists authoritative modes of expression and thinking. My theoretical and creative works seeks to conjure inexhaustible interrelatedness, even between seemingly disparate parts. My productions have always been hybrid—a blend of cultures, languages, academic fields and artistic genres. In all my creative work, I draw from the binary-challenging work of Forugh Farrokhzad, Agnes Varda, Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, Yoko Ono and Trinh T. Minh-ha, who subvert dominant constraints of genre through poetic modes.
