Sharon Moran
I am a retired teacher who always had an admiration for watercolor painting. A few years after I retired, I joined a community class that taught watercolors. My first teacher would paint a watercolor and bring it to class for us to use as a reference. It was a wonderful way to learn, because we could see how the paint went on the paper and learn her techniques by doing it ourselves. Many artists have learned by copying the Masters. I have been painting for about 14 years now and it has become my passion. Painting has allowed me to see the world in more detail and in brilliant color. Now I want to paint the world!
Jan Luther
from Visalia California. A hairstylist by trade and an artist by choice. I’ve been water coloring for most of my adult life and recently joined the Visalia senior center to challenge myself in this craft. I have discovered that I enjoy very loose watercolors. I like to let the viewer decide how they feel about my work.
Hopefully they smile.
‘Art is in the eye of the beholder’, so they say so behold!

Upon retirement, I relocated to Visalia in 2014. After Covid, I was very excited to finally be able to enroll in the senior center watercolor class. “When I’m an old woman, I’ll paint again…Watercolor is a patient passion.” That’s what I said for forty years. I’m a native of California’s Central Valley. Finally, I got brave and started attending a watercolor class at the Visalia’s Senior Center. I want to paint little ordinary moments in my garden, our dogs-daughters, and explore the faces of aging women.
